My handmade rope baskets allow some dough moisture to evaporate during proofing. This allows for easier dough scoring for the bread to open during baking. It also gives your sourdough bread a little thicker crust. YUM!
My husband bakes all sorts of breads using the baskets I made for him. He generously flours the basket, but if a little bit sticks, he just washes with water. He uses this size basket for small and medium round loaf pans. I love the smell of baking bread!

I'm not new to bread making but I've basically been failing at sourdough since receiving a starter two Christmases ago. Was about to just give up, then I decided to give it one more shot. I figured it was time to invest in some proper equipment, including this product, and after taking an online course for help, I am actually succeeding! This basket is beautifully made, I adore it equally for its looks and its usefulness It cleans up well after use, I just hose it out with hot water and dry it in the sun. I can think of about a thousand other uses for this lovely basket, but, for now I'm all about perfecting my finally-actually-pretty good sourdough!
