Beautiful Rustic Batik Fabric Basket!
I hand wrapped this rich batik fabric around cotton line, which I then hand coiled and machine quilted to make it sturdy. I used the raw edge technique with some fray (strings). It is a high quality 100% cotton fabric and it shows on the inside of this lovely basket too! I added a lovely brown batik fabric to the base for a nice contrast accent. All of these lovely batik fabrics are 100% cotton.
I just love these colorful batik fabrics with the rich highlights! The pattern created is so unique! These lovely batik fabrics were hand made in Indonesia, using wax resist patterns, which is very labor intensive. The results are gorgeous!
